Fireflies Free plan: unlimited transcripts need Auto-join

Fireflies changed its Free plan limits for new sign-ups. Users who sign up on or after 2026-09-01 get unlimited transcriptions only if they turn on Auto-join. Without Auto-join, the Free plan default is 3 meeting transcriptions. The Fireflies help center says accounts that signed up earlier with unlimited free meetings are unaffected.

What changed

The Fireflies help center article "Unlock Unlimited Transcriptions on the Fireflies Free Plan" states: "These limits apply to users who sign up on or after September 1, 2026." It also says that if you signed up before that date and already had unlimited free meetings, your account is unaffected and keeps the same limits.

The article says that turning on the "Auto-join calendar meetings" toggle in Meeting Settings lets Fireflies join and transcribe eligible meetings with no cap on the number of transcriptions. It lists a filter with these options: all meetings with web-conference links, only meetings you organize, or only meetings with teammates. Turning Auto-join off returns the account to the Free plan default of 3 meeting transcriptions.
